Why get involved?

  • Strengthen the School through group and community efforts.
  • Learn first-hand about raising money for artistic projects —knowledge vital to your career.
  • Interact with MSM’s supporters who are professionals in many fields.
  • Get early access to a network of thousands of alumni.
  • Enhance the value of your Manhattan degree.

Who can get involved

MSM’s Student Philanthropy Program involves current students in the philanthropy activities of the School by fostering interactions with alumni and donors. Students learn about donor cultivation and how to fund-raise for their own future needs. Graduating students are helped to transition into becoming active alumni.

Examples of past opportunities:

  • participation in annual donor Thank-a-Thons and Phone-a-Thons
  • leadership opportunities to act as special event ambassadors
  • speciallydesigned workshops on fundraising strategies for students and emerging artists
  • graduating class giving campaigns

How to get involved

  1. Contact the Philanthropy Office for current paid and volunteer opportunities including phone centers.
  2. Attend special workshops for students about fundraising for your projects Workshops are scheduled each year, created specially for students, that addressed questions about cultivating donors, organizations, and foundations for special projects.
  3.  Become a Student Ambassador: Help your School in hosting special events. Our patrons, guests, and alumni love meeting students. You and the future success of your career are the reasons they give to MSM. Let us know if you would like to be a greeter or helper at one of our events. If you prefer to work behind-the-scenes, that’s just as helpful.
